Atlas is 1 satellite of 5. The other 4 are being developed by 5 other universities. (all 5 CubeSats have the same bus architecture, but slightly different and unique payloads).

Quick OverviewPROVES-Atlas will contain one payload board, which houses one microcontroller, three magnetorquers, and all necessary peripherals for ADCS control and image compression and processing. The microcontroller will carry out both ADCS and camera algorithms. Ideally, the dedicated microcontroller on this board will be the RT1050.
Success CriteriaOur minimum level of success entails taking a photo from space and receiving it on Earth. To accomplish this, we will be using the Sony Spresense camera and conduct image processing on an RT1050 microcontroller. The photo will be compressed to take up less data size and processed to a form acceptable for downlinking to Earth. Our full succcess criteria entailed using the ADCS to point the satellite toward earth. so that the camera can intentionally take an image of Earth to downlink.

- Redesigned the Electrical Power System (EPS) to help close the power budget by identifying the most power-efficient combination of switching regulators and finding minimal leakage current load switches.
- Updated solar boards to enable integration with both flight and engineering model connectors.
- Characterized bus Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) performance to construct a representative engineering model used for rapid development and trade studies.

After more than 12 hours of splicing and soldering, unscrewing and re-screwing, snipping and gluing, the assembly was finally complete!
